Adult entry is €18 for the Jerónimos cloister and €15 for Belém Tower. The church beside the cloister is a separate visit and it is free.

Buy the cloister ticket before you come: the monuments’ own page says tickets frequently sell out and cannot be bought on the day. The ticket desks shut at 16:30 while the doors stay open until 17:30, and both monuments are closed on Mondays.

How to do Belém without wasting the ticket

Buy the cloister ticket before you come. The monuments’ own page says tickets frequently sell out and then cannot be bought on the day, and the ticket office at Jerónimos closes at 16:30 while the doors stay open until 17:30.

The church is a different door of the same building and it costs nothing. It opens at 10:30 from Tuesday to Saturday and only at 14:00 on Sundays and religious holidays, so on a Sunday morning the cloister comes first and the church waits until the afternoon.

Step-free access at the tower reaches the ground floor and the nave of the bastion only; everything above is stairs. At Jerónimos the ground floor of the cloister and the church are step-free, the upper gallery is not, and the monument keeps a wheelchair and portable stools.

Carris flags tram 15E as temporarily shortened, so check the line before you set out. Neither monument lends audio guides.

Should I buy the cloister ticket ahead?Yes, if the cloister is part of your plan: the monuments’ own page says tickets frequently sell out and then cannot be bought on the day. Official tickets go through mmp.bymeoblueticket.pt.
Is the Lisboa Card worth it for Belém?Two adult tickets here come to €33. The 24-hour card is €31 and includes both, so it is €2 ahead before you have taken a tram. With a child under 13 it flips: the monuments are free for them and the child card still costs €21.
Is the church really free?Yes. Tuesday to Saturday from 10:30, Sundays and religious holidays from 14:00, and it is the same building as the cloister you pay for.
When is the last moment to get in?17:00 for both monuments. At Jerónimos the counter shuts at 16:30, so a late ticket has to be bought online.
