Who writes this
Anastasia Antonova. I have lived in Lisbon for four years. Friends kept asking me the same thing before they came, so I started writing the answers down.
What is on the site
Places carry the ticket price, the opening hours and the days a monument is shut. Where something next to it is free, the page says so.
Tours are sorted into shortlists. 405 tours clear our bar of 4.5 stars and 30 reviews. Each shortlist takes one filter, such as a tuk-tuk ride or a meal, and compares what you actually get for the money.
Questions are the ones people put to a search box before booking. Every answer opens with a figure.
A page appears here when it answers something. There is no blog.
Where the numbers come from
Ticket prices and opening hours come from the monument’s own site. Fares come from the Carris price list. Each page names its sources at the bottom with the date they were read.
Tour prices come from the marketplace catalogue and from the availability schedules behind it. That is why a page shows a range and the price per person by party size. The catalogue line often quotes a fare for two people, and one traveller pays double.
Found a figure that is wrong? Write to me, and it gets fixed with the next check of that page.
How the site earns
Booking links lead to Viator. A booking made through them pays me a commission at the same rate for every tour, so it plays no part in what appears here or in what order. Nobody pays to be listed. The longer version is here.
